Technological advances in recent years have enabled increasingly concrete system solutions for smart grids, and their application in the development of electricity systems has become desirable.

A STRIDE project will support the modernisation of the electricity grid in the Danube region by integrating smart grid concepts to promote regional and local energy planning.

The project aims to provide comprehensive support to regional/local decision makers to improve energy planning using smart grid concepts. A regional situation analysis will be followed by the development of a smart grid strategy, and then the successful implementation of these strategies in the partner regions will be supported.

The partners of the project are energy agencies, universities, research institutes, energy clusters from countries of the Danube region with different economic, social, financial and development levels. The diverse composition of the partnership will ensure that comprehensive solutions are developed that can be adapted elsewhere and in other fields.

Duration of the project: 2020.07.01.-2022.12.31.

Partners: 8 project partners, 8 professional partners from 8 countries

The project is supported by the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme.
