Technical content of the project: the project has resulted in a complex system, both in terms of equipment and technology, which will result in significant cost reductions due to continuous operation. The nanovas layer has excellent soft magnetic properties, the layer deposited on a copper substrate of the appropriate thickness allows the creation of several processes and products that are in line with market trends in the electronics industry, such as miniaturisation and material optimisation, and allows the creation of unique thin film coatings with combined structures.

Project title: EARTHLOWER (Development of a tree seedling grading machine)

Project deliverable: the output of the project is a world-leading seedling grading machine, which combines conveyor belt technology with digital image recognition and analysis systems to enable single-phase grading and sorting of the feedstock fed onto the conveyor belt. The result of this development will also lead to direct competitive advantages and cost reductions, as the saleability of seedlings that meet the parameters of professionally selected and individually graded seedlings will be improved and the replacement of live labour will reduce the risks of labour shortages.

Project title: optimisation and development of food processing and production capacity at Kútház Gasztronómia Kft.

Project title: Gamma radiosurgical image fusion software

The technical content of the project: the result of the project is a multi-modal image fusion target software, which is capable of fused 3D display of CT and MR images using augmented reality and virtual reality. The result of this development will help irradiation planners to more accurately plan irradiation therapy for cancer patients, thus achieving more successful medical interventions. The process involves the registration and fusion of CT and MR images in a way that provides physicists with a more accurate solution using an advanced registration algorithm.

Project title: further development of the battery pack and its production technology

Technical content of the project: the battery packs used in heavy-duty drones required further development in terms of capacity and load capacity, based on preliminary measurements. As a result of the project, a battery bundle was created that meets the customer’s target criteria and is suitable for series production, and also utilises the latest available technology and products, thus increasing flight time and customer experience.

Project Title: Flexitarian prototype development at Edipex Ltd.

Technical content of the project: the project focused on the development of plant-based additive recipes to produce valuable nutrient-rich foods. The weed (fat porcini) that can best support the planned food development task was selected. Four types of additives were produced from it: (1) chopped and dried at 50°C, (2) lyophilized, (3) fermented porcini and (4) alcoholic extract of porcini.

Project title: Energy Container Energy Control System Development

Project implementation period: 03.04.2023-30.04.2024.

The main outcome of the project is the development of a special heat pump energy supply system, the integration of existing and high-tech heat pump equipment into a single heating-cooling-hot water supply system, which can be a fast and simple replacement for gas-fired heating and hot water supply systems as a complex hardware and software product. As a container-mounted complex electrical and energy supply and control system, it is capable of providing energy in-feed to existing heating and hot water supply networks, adapting to their different energy characteristics. The additional priority is to increase carbon neutrality by ensuring that the heating, cooling and hot water supply of the installations is provided with the most efficient energy consumption while absorbing grid electricity

Project title: Design and analysis of the logistic processes for the collection and preparation of Li-ion batteries

Technical content of the project: the main outcome of the project is the processing of lithium-ion battery waste from the amortization stream. The establishment of a state-of-the-art battery processing plant and its optimisation for the domestic material stream will create the potential to achieve results in the field of secondary battery production without primary mining activities, thus contributing to the creation of battery systems for the storage of electricity from green energy in both industrial and residential environments. There is a broad interest in the technology among market players in Hungary.

Project title: development and technologicalisation of a drug prevention straw

Project implementation period: 01.03.2023-31.12.2023.

The development work will result in the development of a catering device, namely a paper straw, which will be able to indicate the presence of a banned substance (GHB) in beverages by means of a colour change as an indicator for the HORECA sector. The prototype of the GHB detection straw has been completed and is already suitable for demonstration purposes (blue colour change in 5-30 s). The aim of the project has been welcomed by the BRFK. The project has also attracted the interest of a well-known multinational company.

Project title: complex analysis of structural features from imaging studies, development of an evaluation module

The technical content of the project: the result of the project is the creation of a complex imaging and machine processing system for structural analysis of metals and their alloys, mainly zirconium alloys, according to widely applied standard requirements, with the evaluation of image results from internal and external sources based on artificial intelligence. The innovative method developed will support the deep analysis of a broad spectrum of mesoscopic variations (e.g. inclusions) and other sources of macro- and microstructural results (composition, mechanical properties).

The product developed in the Lanus QDUP project aims to increase the amount of energy produced by solar panels during periods when they are not at their rated output, either after retrofitting or integrated into the production process. Our solution consists of a layer containing the right nanoparticles to convert a part of the sunlight into a more usable light spectrum for the solar cell. The result of the project could provide a solution for already installed solar panel farms by increasing the efficiency of old solar panels. This will also help to increase the lifetime of outdated solar panels, reducing waste production.

Project title: Development of an energy cost optimisation module for the control of load-side resilience capacity

Technical content of the project: the applicant wished to extend its existing and successful energy management software system (EMS) with a module that allows flexible operation of certain high-power consumers based on market price through a cloud-based service. The development of the hardware elements of the system, the control algorithms, the analytical solution and the switching algorithm to achieve the synchronised operation of the above and market energy prices were developed in the context of this project.

Project title: Assessment of driver skills by recording and analysing vehicle operating data

Technical content of the project: the final outcome of the project is that driving skills (and their development) will be defined on the basis of measurable data (comparability of learner drivers’ performance with each other and with themselves), through which software will be developed to help in a uniform assessment and driver profiles will be created that can be assigned to individual drivers. The development and operation (test run) of this software was carried out in the project.

Project title: Development of an embeddable clock-turning and accuracy measuring device

Project implementation period: 01.01.2024-31.10.2024.

Technical content of the project: the development of a new clockturning device, typically for sale in watch safes, for the luxury market. The watch catcher had to be expandable in a modular way with several rotating units and the control module had to be able to handle them together. The project also included the development of supporting software to implement the clockworker’s operation.
