The PCRec Product Centric Recycling project aims to create a long-term, self-sustaining infrastructure and network of experts to support the product-oriented processing of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), with a focus on printed circuit boards (PCBs), lighting equipment, LCD flat screens and permanent magnets. The project aims to provide its customers with market-ready technologies that enable the recovery of critical raw materials from WEEE waste. Services include materials science analysis and characterisation of waste, LCA testing and raw material recovery. BZN’s technical role in the project: BAY ENG contributes with its infrastructure to the pre-treatment and characterisation of printed circuit board waste, and BAY SMART participates in the project with life cycle analysis.
The project is supported by EIT KIC Raw Materials and will run from February 2016 to January 2019
The partner countries of the project are Italy, Ireland, Greece, Hungary, Belgium, Poland, France, Sweden, Spain, Germany
The Hungarian partner of the project is the Bay Zoltán Research Institute
