A shift towards a more circular economy is essential to achieve the resource efficiency agenda set out in the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth. The European Institute of Innovation and Technology – EIT RawMaterials, supported by the European Commission, supports this initiative.

The Bay Zoltán Research Institute is an active member of the EIT KIC RawMaterials community of practice, knowledge and innovation, and its strategy is in line with the objectives of the community.

The Bay Zoltán Research Institute participates as a consortium member in the ORCERIS project.

The primary objective of the project is to raise awareness of the circular economy in the different CLCs through the organisation of 4 large-scale workshops. The expected outcome of the events is to assess the status of materials science topics and to raise their awareness. Furthermore, to promote their applicability in everyday life through the demonstration of a number of useful new technologies.
