Presentation of the project:
The water and wastewater treatment company Pureco Ltd. The consortium, led by Pureco, a water treatment and wastewater treatment company, aims to develop new physicochemical adsorption properties based on proprietary production technology and measurement and qualification results, as a result of innovative material combinations and production technology developments, which can be commercialised in the water treatment technology market, target-specific, ready-to-use water treatment product range, as well as regeneration technology and processes to minimise hazardous waste during adsorbent production/use and regeneration, jointly developed by Puraset Ltd. and Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd.
The partners complement each other. PURECO has the competences for manufacturing, Puraset for adsorbent development and BZN for analytical testing and laboratory development. Relying on the network of contacts established through Pureco’s international network of companies and the market embeddedness of its partners, the consortium is best placed to assess the needs of its target markets and to carry out research and development of products for which there is a real, solvent demand.
The main elements of the project are the definition of R&D directions for adsorbent development, the production of new adsorbents suitable for water treatment, the R&D of new material compositions and production technologies for adsorbents not commercially available and the development of a measurement and qualification system for adsorbent material compositions, development of technologies for adsorbent regeneration, development of technologies to minimise the amount of hazardous waste generated during adsorbent production and regeneration, testing of adsorbents in an environment representative of actual operating conditions, adsorbent supply and the establishment of a technology database.
The project will be implemented in Jászfényszaru and Szeged, the project started on 1 April 2022 and was technically completed on 31 March 2025.
