From EURAXESS Hubs project (Piloting EURAXESS talent hubs to support researchers’ careers) is coordinated by the Bay Zoltán Research Centre. The project is a pilot programme to renew the functioning of the EURAXESS international network. It aims to establish cross-border, hub-based cooperation, following the example of other European networks such as Digital Innovation Hubs and KICs.

The EURAXESS network supports researcher mobility and career development. It is a joint initiative of the European Commission and dozens of European countries, resulting in 42 national portals providing country-specific information. There are also more than 600 EURAXESS centres with dedicated staff to support researchers’ mobility.

The EURAXESS Hubs project aims to mobilise a critical mass of experienced and less experienced EURAXESS institutions to launch three EURAXESS Hubs and share their experiences with the network. The EURAXESS Hubs will be integrated digital platforms involving EURAXESS centres and other stakeholders, such as multipliers outside the EURAXESS network. Hub-based cooperation will be implemented in three thematic areas related to research career development:

  • Career management in universities and research institutions
  • Research careers beyond academia (building intersectoral links with innovative private sector companies)
  • Careers in science start-ups and entrepreneurship

The results of the project will be made available to all EURAXESS networks (600+ participating organisations in 43 countries) to provide advanced career services in their own institutions, but also to target groups beyond the institution, if required.

Duration of the project: 2021.09.01. – 2022.08.31.

Project consortium: 30 partner institutions from 30 countries. Coordinator: Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd.
