DESCRIPTION OF THE EXTENDED LIFETIME AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE SAFETY OPERATION AND CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS PERFORMANCE – LONG TERM OPERATION WITH NO COMPROMISES IN THE SAFETY
The DELISA-LTO EURATOM project aims to investigate the life extension of the VVER (Water-Water Energetic Reactor- Paks I) reactors.
The aim of the project is to identify the components most affected and threatened by Long Term Operation (LTO), to describe the effects of LTO on material properties and to develop a combined non-destructive and simulation tool that can predict unacceptable material conditions. A key outcome of the project will be to ensure safe, predictable and reliable long-term operation.
The main focus is to achieve non-destructive observation and/or testing, validating this approach on materials with a well-described operational history, supported by simulation and modelling from real-world operational operation, directly influencing the design phase of the component.

Duration of the project: 48 months (01/06/2022 – 31/05/2026)
Partners: 9 project partners from 6 countries.
The project is the winner of the Horizon-EURATOM-2021-NRT-01-01 call with a total grant of €3276 000, of which BZN’s share is €310 000.
