The aim of the project is to research capnography techniques within asthma diagnostic methods and, based on this, to develop an innovative prototype capnography device. The project will contribute to improving the quality of life of patients by providing new scientific results and an effective diagnostic method. The tools to be developed will enable a form of asthma diagnosis that is unprecedented in the world, more accurate and easier to use than existing methods, and more convenient and partially automated thanks to the use of modern mathematical and info-communication methods.

The project is supported by PROFITEXPERT Computer Technology Ltd. (a leading Hungarian IT company with a long history in the field of vital function monitoring), the University of Szeged (one of the most prestigious higher education institutions in Hungary), Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd. (Hungary’s leading applied research institute), Optin Ltd. (an information technology research and development company with outstanding experience in hardware and software development) and SmartEye Ltd.

The capnograph device, which will be mass-produced in Hungary by 30 November 2019, will also create new jobs and contribute significantly to improving patients’ quality of life.

The project was supported by the Hungarian State and co-financed by the European Union.
