Through the project, the partners will raise awareness among primary school pupils (8-10 years old) about the importance of raw materials and how they have become an indispensable part of our everyday lives.
We often take the availability of raw materials for granted and do not think about what would happen if a raw material ran out. The creators of this project were inspired by the documentary film series ‘Life After Man’. In an interactive activity, they use an animated short film to show pupils the consequences of the disappearance of copper, for example, which is used in many areas. In addition to video, other educational tools such as mobile phones and video games will be used to adapt to the habits of today’s schoolchildren.
In 2018, project partners will hold one event in each of four countries. In addition, the teachers involved in the project will be able to learn already developed methods that will enable them to teach and transfer their knowledge on the subject on their own.
The project is supported by the EIT KCI Raw Materials.
Duration of the project: 2018. January – December 2018
The partner countries: Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Slovenia
