The consortium formed by Magyar Suzuki Zrt., PEMÜ Zrt., Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd. and Pázmány Péter Catholic University, led by Magyar Suzuki Zrt., on 26 April 2016, held a conference entitled “The Magyar Suzuki Zrt.and research sites for the development of a competitive, safe and environmentally friendly prototype and economical mass production technology of a tested passenger car”, registered under the code number GINOP-2.2.1-15-2016-00015, for the call for proposals under the Economic Development and Innovation Operational Programme GINOP-2.2.1-15 “R&D Competitiveness and Excellence Cooperation”.

Projected results of the project:

  • To produce a new, modern, competitive, tested Suzuki prototype with the main features of light weight, low fuel consumption, low environmental impact, safety, 95% recyclability of materials, high quality, minimal maintenance and repair requirements and a wide range of comfort and other services for drivers and passengers;
  • To create and operate an innovation network consisting of Magyar Suzuki Zrt, universities, non-profit research centres and suppliers;
  • To introduce more modern, efficient and quality-enhancing batch production technology by networking welding robots and making MSC’s logistics system more efficient, both within the factory and between the factory and suppliers;
  • Paving the way for further technological improvements in series production by preparing the introduction of laser welding and developing new polymer(s) with improved technical properties and cost savings for the production of car components.

The project was supported by the Hungarian State and co-financed by the European Union.
