Last year saw the successful launch of Pepper – the humanoid robot is one of the main subjects of our “Pécs FIEK” (GINOP-2.3.4-15-2020-00010) project at the MESZK stand at the SzakmaSztár Festival. The Festival opened its doors to the public again this year, where not only health professions were represented, but almost every profession in our country.
Before the end of the project, they again had the opportunity to present to an enthusiastic audience at the SzakmaSztár Festival the special development results achieved within the framework of the project in the field of robot-assisted care, which they have implemented together with the University of Pécs. Our colleagues had the opportunity to introduce themselves at the joint stand of the Hungarian Chamber of Health Care Professionals (MESZK) and the National Hospital Directorate General (OKFŐ). The large number of visitors included young people about to choose a career, but also practising nurses, nurses and paramedics, who were very interested to see the activities that a humanoid can perform with great safety, for example, in the care of a patient lying in bed.

In the FIEK project entitled Establishment of a Centre for Health Data Analysis, Data Utilisation and Smart Device and Technology Development at the University of Pécs, our colleagues in the consortium formed with the University of Pécs and 4iG Nyrt are not only researching the possibilities of robotic nursing, but are also engaged in significant development activities. The project has also achieved significant results in their own research areas, including research into the use of other smart devices in healthcare diagnostics, as well as the development of 3-dimensional wound scanners (for decubitus analysis) and smart-glass thermocamera devices.
