Presentation of the project content:

Crescom Ltd. Since it was founded in 2003, it has successfully completed a number of international transactions and has gained experience in several industries. Over the past 21 years, the company has built up outstanding expertise in AI-enabled warehouse automation, explosives storage, manufacturing and transportation, and has developed an extensive network of international contacts. Crescom Ltd. owns a 30-hectare site suitable for the storage of explosives, which was previously used for fireworks manufacturing machinery. Over the past two decades, the company has gained considerable experience in the logistical management of hazardous materials, and has recognised the risks posed by the battery industry, which is growing in our country.

Crescom Ltd. has been involved in several patented developments in recent years, such as autonomous fire-fighting robots and island-powered solar panel systems. Building on this knowledge, the company aims to find a solution for the safe storage of Li-ion batteries and other hazardous materials. The company’s current project is to develop an artificial intelligence-driven early hazard detection and isolation system that will minimize the risk of fires, reduce losses from extinguishing damage and increase the safety of human life.

The hardware elements of the system include induction-charged heat, thermal velocity and smoke sensors, as well as thermal cameras, which are located on the shelves of the storage system or on the battery modules. The data collected by the sensors is processed in real time by an artificial intelligence-based Big Data platform. In the event of an emergency, the system automatically removes the problem product and transports it to an isolation chamber. In the isolation chamber, the appropriate inoculation protocol can be implemented based on the material safety data sheet.

The development is particularly important as traditional storage systems are not able to identify emergencies early. A single faulty product can set off a chain reaction that could lead to the destruction of the entire stock or the plant. Human supervision of such containers is extremely costly and dangerous, especially due to the toxic gases released when Li-ion batteries burn. Crescom Ltd.’s development offers a complex storage solution that provides 24/7 monitoring and can manage emergencies in a fully automated way.

The result of the project will be an artificial intelligence-driven robotic battery storage and early warning system that will provide a comprehensive solution from safe storage to firefighting. The development will bring significant economic and environmental benefits, such as increased personal safety, prevention of property damage, promotion of environmental protection and safer workplaces. The use of the system could also improve the public image of battery factories.

The Bay Zoltán Foundation is participating in the development as a consortium partner, providing professional support for the research and development processes. By the end of the project, a licensed, legally compliant early fire detection and isolation system will be in place, which could be the first link in the global battery supply chain that will be developed in the near future. Crescom Ltd. aims to contribute to a new level of safety and sustainability through its innovations, while strengthening its position in the hazardous materials storage market.

Planned completion date of the project: 2026.12.31.
