Our researchers at the ProfessionalStar

The following was organised 15th SzakmaSztár Festival in Budapest, at Hungexpo, 25-27 April 2022. The event’s unconcealed aim was to Industry 4.0 Programme promote dual vocational training in line with economic and educational trends, support outstanding talent in vocational education and training, and help people to make career choices.

As well as raising interest in the professions, the event also includes a competitive element, with the finals. can compete students who are in the National Vocational Studies Competition (OSZTV) and the Outstanding Student of the Profession Competition (SZKTV).

A good measure of the prestige of the professional festival is that this year, at the opening ceremony Viktor Orbán, Prime Minister of Hungary, also welcomed the participants and visited the exhibition. At the event Bay Research Centre colleagues discuss new trends in healthcare have sought to raise awareness of the future potential of robotic care. They presented the developments that Health Data Analysis, Data Utilisation and the Development of a Centre for Smart Tools and Technology at the University of Pécs, in the project GINOP-2.3.4-15-2020-00010. At the event, our development achievements were also presented to the Prime Minister.

Guest speakers at the event Pepper, a humanoid robot as one of our main research areas, in cooperation with the University of Pécs, is the selection of nursing activities in which robotisation can be economically implemented. Our research centre is also investigating the acceptance of robots by patients and caregivers, the future development of which may be influenced by whether today’s young people can get up close and personal with humanoid and non-humanoid care assistants at such events. Perhaps they will become the researchers of the future, or adults who will encounter the robot-assisted nursing system we have created, or even work as nurses with our developments.
