Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd., as a member of the HUN-REN research network, aims to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of Hungarian companies through successful innovation and technology transfer, in close cooperation with leading Hungarian and foreign partner institutions.

For our customers – currently more than 200 companies – we offer complex scientific and technical solutions in a range of disciplines that can help them to increase their competitiveness.

We cooperate with public, academic and higher education institutions and their research centres, acting as an innovation link for them through applied R&D and technology transfer activities. As a think-tank, our researchers and our team of experts are able to serve emerging industrial R&D needs at an internationally high professional level and to take them from idea to implementation. We also play an active role in international consortia building, networking and EU research, development and innovation proposals, as well as technology incubation.

We consider it our mission to participate in projects of outstanding technological quality and national economic significance, in line with the objectives of HUN-REN, which can contribute significantly to social welfare.

Pursuant to Section 42/B (2a) of Act LXXVI of 2014 on Scientific Research, Development and Innovation, the HUN-REN Centre (registered office: 1052 Budapest, Piarista utca 4., PIR registration number: 840572, KSH statistical number: 15840572-8411-311-01, tax number: 15840572-1-41, represented by Dr. Balázs Zoltán Gulyás, President) is entitled to exercise the rights of the owner over the Company on behalf of the Hungarian State.

The HUN-REN Centre is an independent budgetary institution established by the Hungarian Parliament on 1 August 2019 to manage and operate a centrally funded, independent research network, which is the cornerstone of Hungarian scientific life. HUN- REN’s independent Governing Board is chaired by a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and the majority of its members are academics.

HUN-REN’s eleven research centres and seven research institutes, as well as 116 funded research teams in universities and other public institutions, carry out basic and applied research in a wide range of fields, from mathematics and natural sciences to life sciences, humanities and social sciences.

HUN-REN continues to build on the wealth of knowledge that has been accumulated in the research network over the past century.

Bay Zoltán Applied Research Nonprofit Ltd., as a member of the HUN-REN research network, is committed to providing high quality research and development services that meet national and international scientific and technical standards. Our goal is to further strengthen our position in the R&D market and to increase the satisfaction of our partners by continuously improving our services and by maintaining a stable track record of achievements.

We believe that long-term success is based on trusting our partners and delivering high quality, reliable services. That is why we place a high priority on the quality of our services and developments, and extend this approach to all areas of our activities.

For our management, quality is not just a goal, it is the foundation of our operations. We support the development of our staff’s professional knowledge and quality awareness through continuous training, so that the need for commitment and continuous improvement is present throughout the organisation.

Our quality management system is in accordance with the MSZ EN ISO 9001:2015 standard and we are committed to continuous improvement. We also operate an information security system in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001:2013 to protect our customers and our own data.

We regularly review our quality policy and make it available to our partners and colleagues. As an accredited research organisation, it is entitled to host researchers from third countries.

For expert and material testing activities related to the ABOS 1, 2, 3 and 4T safety class equipment of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant.
