Valid

Whether it's idea validation, structural safety, life cycle analysis or environmental impact assessment, we support our clients' decisions with a comprehensive engineering and sustainability approach.

Applied artificial intelligence, machine vision-based developments

Our artificial intelligence research and development focuses on artificial intelligence-based support for machine vision. Our primary areas of development are content classification based on image information, object recognition, which can help in quality assurance, automatic packaging or autonomous robot control.

ESG advice

Bay Zoltán Research Centre is committed to sustainability, social responsibility and transparent corporate governance. As an accredited ESG advisory partner, we support our clients to: meet the highest ESG standards; achieve their sustainability goals with innovative and credible solutions; and achieve real, measurable results – from sustainability strategy to reporting.

Production service planning and process optimisation, logistics planning

Modern and sustainable economic processes are based on the efficient interconnection of spatially distributed production capacities, raw material resources and consumers. Logistics systems are the means to create these links. Our Production Service Planning area is concerned with the development and optimisation of external and internal logistics and production systems used in industry, using spatial information and process modelling tools.

Incubation

The Technical Incubation Platform (MIP), provides complex business – technology – marketisation services for risky developments with longer development cycles, requiring infrastructure and manufacturing capacity, and thus supports domestic industrial development.

Advanced information technologies

Solutions using advanced information technologies are increasingly supporting our everyday lives. To solve individual problems, our colleagues can handle complete projects from needs assessment, protocol development to specification, including standalone PC and mobile application development, client-server, web, cloud, database management applications, embedded software development, microcontroller control and data acquisition circuits, IoT and electronics design for various wired and wireless communication applications.

Environmental Product Declarations (EPD), product carbon footprint calculation, environmental life cycle assessment (LCA)

Our team, with decades of experience in the field of environmental life cycle analysis (LCA), carries out Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) of products, the most common objective of which is to calculate the Carbon Footprint of products (CFP) and to prepare Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). LCA quantifies the environmental impacts of products throughout their life cycle.

Engineering numerical modelling

We use advanced numerical computer modelling techniques to solve engineering problems accurately and efficiently, especially in the areas of product and technology development and optimisation. We have decades of experience in various simulation fields such as structural, thermal, modal, damage and failure coupled analysis, life cycle prediction supported by VEM methods, plastic forming and welding process modelling. Our expertise also extends to multiscale, multiphase composite materials modelling, including simulations analysing micromechanical behaviour and the relationship between manufacturing technology and product use.

Taking ideas from lab-scale experiments to validated technology demonstration

Innovative ideas often die without intensive professional and financial support, even though they could benefit the domestic economy. However, many ideas that seem promising at first sight are not technically or economically feasible!

Integrity and operational safety analysis of structures and equipment, life cycle management

The operational safety and service life of industrial installations, engineering structures, equipment and machinery is not only of paramount importance from an environmental and health safety point of view, but is also of economic importance for the owner. This is a key issue not only for installations already in operation, but also for the design and construction of new plants, equipment and machinery, where the need to ensure safe operation over the longest possible period must be taken into account.

Organisational waste management system analysis

Analysing material flow processes, with a focus on the amount of waste generated on the output side, can make a significant contribution to reducing the environmental impacts of an organisation's operations. The main objective of our study is to identify opportunities to maximise the reduction of waste generated. These reductions can be achieved in two aspects: firstly, by finding options for the efficient recovery of the waste generated and, secondly, by finding options to prevent its generation.

Organisational carbon footprint and environmental sustainability report

Calculating the carbon footprint of an organisation's operations is the first step in a company's fight against climate change. An analysis against the relevant standards provides an overview of a company's greenhouse gas emissions and highlights environmental hot-spots that can be improved to reduce the organisational carbon footprint and enable adaptation to climate change. Strategic engagement is essential to ensure measurability and transparency of companies' environmental sustainability.

Digitalisation of business processes

The use of digital technologies to automate, optimise and modernise business activities is a process that helps companies run their day-to-day operations. Digitalisation reduces paper use, storage costs and manual work time, and enables new services to be offered to users. It also offers the opportunity to develop new business models and products.
